She explained that after smelling her child’s feet, her eye became severely infected, resulting in significant swelling that left her unable to open it properly.
Wu later confirmed that she had been diagnosed with bacterial conjunctivitis. Alongside her story, she posted a selfie showing her swollen eye and jokingly remarked, “No one ever told me that a child’s feet could be so toxic,”.
The incident quickly drew attention online, with many netizens offering advice.
Some pointed out that young children tend to be highly active, causing their feet to sweat excessively.
Because of this, children’s feet can harbor more bacteria than adults’, increasing the risk of infections like athlete’s foot and, in rare cases, eye infections if hygiene is not properly managed.
Wu Yuehan is known for her work as an actress in mainland China. She starred in the 2018 movie, “The Imperial Medical Investigator”.
