Overseasidol.com — The entertainment world is abuzz with the recent news that Deng Jiajun, nephew of the legendary diva Teresa Teng, has entered the South Korean idol training show “BOYS II PLANET”, produced by the popular broadcasting network Mnet.

Deng Jiajun, participating as contestant #148, is the son of Frank Teng, Teresa Teng’s younger brother.

His involvement in the competitive show has sparked speculation that he might be attempting to follow in the footsteps of his iconic aunt, who left an indelible mark on the Asian music scene.

Addressing the growing curiosity, Deng Changfu—Teresa Teng’s third eldest brother and the chairman of the Teresa Teng Cultural and Educational Foundation, shared with reporters that Jiajun’s participation was not driven by family pressure or a grand career plan.

Instead, he said, “It was something he joined simply out of personal interest and fun,” according to Jiajun’s mother.

Still, with his family name carrying such a legacy, Deng Jiajun’s journey in the entertainment world is already attracting considerable attention.

Teresa Teng, who passed away in 1995, remains one of Asia’s most beloved artists, known for timeless classics such as “The Moon Represents My Heart” and “Sweet As Honey.”
