Overseasidol.com — On August 16, Chinese actor Deng Wei sparked discussion online after rumors spread that he suffered from heatstroke while filming.
Leaked behind-the-scenes photos showed him in heavy traditional costume, visibly uncomfortable, and at one point supported by staff after struggling to stand.
Later that evening, Deng Wei Studio released an official statement addressing fans’ concerns.
“During outdoor filming, Deng Wei felt unwell due to high temperatures. He has received emergency treatment and is now resting.
Thank you for your concern, please don’t worry,” the statement read.
On set, staff members were also seen shielding Deng Wei with umbrellas to protect him from the heat and prying cameras.
The incident quickly drew concern from fans, who flooded social media with prayers for his recovery and hopes for his safe return to filming.
