Chinese actor Zhang Linghe drew attention at the 18th Straits Forum in Xiamen, Fujian, where he spoke about his experience filming the public welfare documentary The Answer Is Earth.
He reflected on China’s major infrastructure and environmental transformation projects.
On June 13, 2026, Zhang appeared at the opening of the 18th Straits Forum wearing a traditional Zhongshan suit.
His presence quickly became one of the highlights of the event, which brings together participants from across the Taiwan Strait.
During media interviews, Zhang discussed his involvement in the documentary The Answer Is Earth.
He revealed that the production team took him deep into several large-scale projects, including offshore wind farms and pumped-storage hydropower stations.
According to Zhang, visiting these sites in person gave him a much deeper understanding of the scale and significance of national development projects.
He explained that only through firsthand experience could he truly appreciate the magnitude of major engineering achievements and the progress of China’s ecological transition.
