Overseasidol.com — Japanese idol group ≠ME has released the music video for their upcoming 11th single, “Haitateki Fighter”, which will be officially released on December 10.
Unlike their previous songs that often focused on love or youth, this track takes a completely different direction.
The theme centers on “self vs. self,” depicting an inner conflict between one’s desire for change and the harsh reality of who they are.
In the MV, two contrasting versions of the members appear one in light blue and white outfits representing the conscious self, and another in brown costumes symbolizing the suppressed subconscious.
The story visualizes how the fragile and hesitant conscious self is gradually overpowered by the bold, liberated subconscious.
Center member Nanaka Tomita shared her thoughts about the song, saying the lyric “My world, shine tomorrow” inspired her to move forward with courage.
She explained that both one’s current self and inner emotions are real, and that through pain and doubt, a brighter future can emerge.
She added that the line “It’s too narrow here” represents realizing that sometimes it’s not oneself that’s wrong, but the environment.
“I hope this song can bring light to anyone who is currently fighting their own inner battle,” she said.
