Overseasidol.com — According to Taiwanese media, Huang Chunmei, the mother of Barbie Hsu, was scheduled to attend the charity event on October 12, 2025, as an ambassador promoting anti-bullying and anti-fraud awareness.
However, on the evening of October 11, she informed the organizers that she would cancel her appearance due to health discomfort.
Although she could not attend in person, Mrs. Huang donated NT$50,000 (around 11,000 RMB) to support the charity initiative.
In a phone interview afterward, she assured everyone that her condition is stable and there is no major issue with her health.
She emotionally added that seeing so many people at the event moved her to tears.
Mrs. Huang also shared her commitment to continue advocating for online kindness, saying that she will serve as the Chairperson for the Anti-Cyberbullying Campaign this year.
She expressed hope that “no one will be unfairly attacked or defamed online again”.
