Their version blends nostalgia with a cutting-edge modern sound that perfectly represents the group’s unique identity.

Produced by SKY-HI and Sunny, the track keeps the signature funk bassline and rhythmic piano of the original, while giving it a modern twist.

The production team recorded a live band through the legendary Neve 8068 analog console, then reshaped the sound with a hip-hop edge.

The chorus melody still pays homage to The Jackson 5, but BE:FIRST adds new lyrics and rap segments that bring a 2025 energy to the song.

Speaking about the cover, SKY-HI shared that the project was a tribute to musical heritage. “We respect the roots of pop culture deeply,” he said.

He added, “This was our way of honoring The Jackson 5, who defined the modern boy band. We wanted to connect that legacy to the present and show why we still create music in this fast-paced world. Every sound, instrument, and detail was crafted with care,”

The music video reflects the joy of rediscovering music for the first time. It captures that pure spark of excitement when music first moves your heart.

The MV also includes hidden easter eggs from BE:FIRST’s past hits such as “Shining One,” “Betrayal Game,” and “Mainstream” giving fans a nostalgic journey through the group’s evolution.

Using advanced volumetric video, the members appear as 3D dancing figures, symbolizing a creative bridge between past and future.

With “I Want You Back” BE:FIRST proves they can celebrate music history while pushing the boundaries of sound and performance.
