Overseasidol.com — Chinese actor Chen Xingxu recently opened up about filming romantic scenes in his ongoing urban romance drama Love Between Lines.
In a new interview, he specifically discussed several kiss scenes that stood out to him, crediting director Mao De Shu for their visually striking presentation.
The series, which stars Chen Xingxu alongside Lu Yuxiao, has drawn attention for its soft and cinematic romantic atmosphere.
Reflecting on the filming process, Chen shared that many moments on set made him think, “This is so characteristic of Mao De Shu”.
He highlighted scenes set under blooming cherry blossoms, including bicycle rides and a memorable kiss surrounded by falling petals.
Chen explained that the way these scenes were shot felt very different from typical drama productions.
He praised the director’s choice of camera angles and lens work, which created a dreamy yet emotionally rich visual tone.
For him, this distinctive style elevated the romance and made the scenes more immersive for viewers.
One particular scene that has not yet aired a kiss by a car window was also mentioned during the interview.
Chen revealed that the script originally described it simply as a farewell kiss, without elaborate detail.
However, the director later added more creative ideas to enhance the romantic atmosphere, and Chen said he looks forward to seeing audience reactions once the scene is broadcast.
When asked about the number of kiss scenes he filmed for the drama, Chen responded casually, saying he never kept count and does not focus too much on such specifics.
Instead, he believes romantic moments should appear naturally at the right emotional point in the story.
