Overseasidol.com — On April 11, Chinese second-rate actor Cheng Hong was recently involved in a breach of his current job.

Lanzhou Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision reported four cases of violations against the central government’s Eight-Point Code.

Among them, Cheng Hong, the former assistant director of Lanzhou Grand Theatre, was dismissed from her position for misusing public funds to finance personal travel.

The Lanzhou Grand Theatre is a county-level cultural institution managed by the Lanzhou Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

Cheng Hong, born in March 1971 in Xi’an, Shaanxi, held the title of second-tier actor and previously served as executive deputy general manager of Lanzhou Performing Arts Group and chairperson of the Lanzhou Drama and Dance Artists Association.

She was honored as a Model Citizen of Moral Excellence in December 2020.

According to the commission, Cheng altered her itinerary during an official European tour to visit cities such as Paris, Brussels, and Rotterdam for personal leisure, with all travel and accommodation expenses paid for by the organization.

In addition to this offense, she committed other disciplinary violations, resulting in a serious party warning and removal from her position. All misappropriated funds have been recovered.

This incident comes after a similar scandal involving Su Xiaolin, the former director of Lanzhou Grand Theatre and former provincial government adviser in Gansu.

In late 2023, Su was prosecuted for embezzlement and bribery. Born in March 1958, Su retired in April 2021 as a first-tier actor.

He was expelled from the Communist Party in August 2023 for factionalism and abuse of power.
