Overseasidol.com — On November 14, the youth-themed realistic film Best Friend, co-produced by Emei Film Group and Xiamen Xingyingshang Culture & Arts, officially announced its release date.
The team also unveiled a new poster and trailer, confirming the film’s premiere on December 5.
The movie follows the story of Zhao Fei, a withdrawn high school student played by Yang Zhihe, who meets a girl named Xia Qiu portrayed by Duan Aojuan.
Their connection grows stronger when Zhao Fei befriends Xia Qiu’s younger brother Xia Tian, played by Jō Kairi, who lives with autism.
The three teenagers come from different emotional worlds, yet their unexpected bond slowly brings them together.
Through companionship and shared experiences, they learn to open their hearts, break inner walls, and walk toward a brighter future.
Directed by young filmmaker Song Zhuofei, the film focuses on autism awareness and the emotional journey of today’s youth.
It uses a warm and sincere tone to highlight social inclusion and encourage viewers to understand and support special-needs groups.
The official poster shows vibrant and lively colors that symbolize youth and hope.
“Best Friend” embraces authentic growth instead of perfect ideals. It reminds young people that they do not need to chase a “standard version” of brilliance.
Their unique existence is already a light that belongs only to them.
