Overseasidol.com — On December 16, Siba Media released an official statement titled a clarification of facts regarding its artist Ju Jingyi.
Siba Media said it had noticed claims circulating within the industry and on various platforms, alleging that Ju Jingyi received extremely low pay, had no profit sharing, and suffered long-term exploitation.
The company stated that these claims are seriously inconsistent with the facts and could mislead the public while harming its reputation and normal business operations.
The statement further escalated the ongoing contract dispute between the two sides.
Tensions intensified after Siba Media publicly disclosed that it had paid Ju Jingyi more than 139 million yuan before tax over a ten-year period.
Disagreements over income distribution and the contract term have now become fully public, sparking broader debate about income transparency and contract fairness in the entertainment industry.
In its explanation, Siba Media said that by May 2024, total payments to Ju Jingyi had reached approximately 139 million yuan.
This amount reportedly includes a fixed monthly payment of 250,000 yuan, which the company said was arranged to meet Shanghai tax residency requirements.
Siba Media also claimed it provided a 155-square-meter river-view apartment along the Bund, an upgraded residence in the city center, as well as a Mercedes vehicle with a full-time driver, all offered as usage benefits.
The company added that it covered various personal expenses unrelated to work, such as travel and daily living costs.
It also stated that it had invested a substantial sum, around 160 million yuan, into supporting Ju Jingyi’s career development and related projects
