Overseasidol.com — On August 11, renowned director Wong Jing spoke out about the recent controversy surrounding actress Zhao Lusi and her dispute with her management agency.
Wong Jing stated that disagreements between actors and agencies are often rooted in business interests.
He suggested that Zhao Lusi’s agency, Yinhe Kuyu or Galaxy Cool Entertainment may have signed many artists, but among them, only Zhao Lusi achieved significant fame.
“Zhao Lusi’s talent is exceptional, and her debut timing was perfect. That’s a combination that’s hard to replicate,” he said.
Wong Jing also discussed a common phenomenon in the entertainment industry that he called the “one-star company” model.
This refers to agencies that concentrate their resources on promoting a single artist but lack the capability to create multiple stars, leaving other signed talents struggling to gain recognition.
Nevertheless, he emphasized that success can be replicated if the management possesses strong capabilities and ample resources, enabling them to promote a diverse roster of artists rather than focusing solely on one.
