Overseasidol.com — Chinese actor Yu Menglong died after a mysterious fall from a building on September 11.
The case has raised public suspicion, as police quickly ruled it an accident without providing details.
Authorities have also suppressed online discussion, fueling doubts that the incident may involve hidden truths.
On September 20, netizens launched a global petition on the NGO platform AVAAZ under the campaign “Justice for Yu Menglong”.
By September 28, more than 90,000 people had signed. The petition pointed to emerging video evidence, including a clip allegedly capturing Yu’s desperate cries, suggesting his death may not have been natural but the result of cruel abuse.
The petition listed three demands. It called for a full, independent, and transparent investigation, the prosecution of suspects if crimes are proven, and an official apology with legal and psychological support for Yu’s family.
Organizers stressed that justice will not come automatically but must be fought for collectively.
They urged groups like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International to monitor the case, push for accountability, and ensure safer working conditions for performers.
The statement concluded by calling on global supporters of human rights and the entertainment industry to join the campaign and demand justice for Yu Menglong.
