Overseasidol.com — Thai entertainment company GMMTV is facing heavy criticism after a group photo from the TikTok Awards Thailand went viral.
In the photo, all male artists are seen standing, while the female artists are kneeling in front of them.
The image quickly sparked outrage across social media, especially on Weibo and Twitter (X).
The issue trended widely on Weibo, reaching #20 on the hot search and #1 on the entertainment list, as users accused the company of showing a lack of respect toward its female artists.
Many called the arrangement “disrespectful and tone-deaf” especially since the women were dressed in formal gowns and high heels.
One fan commented, “Give your female artists proper treatment. This isn’t about gender, it’s about manners and respect,”.
Others criticized the company for poor event coordination, questioning why the women had to kneel while the men stood behind them.
As of now, neither GMMTV nor TikTok Awards Thailand has issued an official statement.
Fans continue to demand an apology and better treatment for female performers in future public events.
