Overseasidol.com — TrueVisions has officially launched its new entertainment campaign titled “Sanook Baeb Thai Is NOW” unveiling an exciting lineup of programs set to air from 2026 onward.
One of the most talked-about announcements is a new period romantic comedy series called “Nong Oei Phi Oei Khor Khao Khor Kaeng”.
The drama will star two popular young Thai celebrities, Gulf Kanawut and Aheye Korranid from the girl group 4EVE.
Although neither actor attended the launch event, the casting reveal quickly went viral, as this project marks their first on-screen pairing, generating strong buzz among fans and netizens.
Adapted from a novel published by Pen Nueng Publishing and written by Fun Oeray, the series blends heartfelt romance with the warmth of traditional Thai cuisine.
The story follows Phakai, a young woman whose life takes an unexpected turn due to family circumstances, leading her to help her grandmother run a humble curry rice shop.
A wealthy businessman from Sampheng frequently visits the shop, and their constant encounters spark a relationship filled with tension, humor, and growing affection.
Set in 1882, during the early years when steamships began bringing Chinese immigrants directly to Siam, the drama also portrays the struggles of migrant communities seeking better lives for their families.
Beyond the love story that slowly blossoms between the lead characters as husband and wife, the series highlights historical context, cultural elements, and the comforting presence of food as a symbol of connection and resilience.
