Overseasidol.com — The popular Webtoon “Koifure Koibito Miman ga Choudo ii” will be adapted into a live-action drama series.
The show is set to premiere on October 2, 2025, in MBS’s Drama Fil slot, with Kohei Higuchi and Asuka Kawazu leading the cast.
The story follows Seri Tsuyama, a manga editor who avoids deep relationships due to past trauma.
While she dreams of romance, she fears becoming someone’s “special one” and getting hurt.
One night, she meets Mahiro Kagaya, a successful designer who also seeks a love without heavy commitment.
Sharing the same mindset, they form a unique contract relationship called “Koifure”, enjoying the sweet side of romance without jealousy or obligations.
The rule is clear: if either develops real feelings, the arrangement ends. But as their dates continue, genuine emotions slowly blossom, challenging their promise.
Kohei Higuchi plays Mahiro Kagaya and Asuka Kawazu stars as Seri Tsuyama.
The drama is directed by Ikuko Sawada, who debuted as a writer-director in Choi Tsuridandi and later worked on Smells Like Green Spirit.
Co-director Yuya Takahashi, known for Kaettekitara Ippai Shite and Sukiyanen kedo Dou Yaroka, also joins the project.
