Overseasidol.com — The highly anticipated Jacky Cheung 60+ World Tour has stirred public discussion in Dongguan, China, after local residents expressed concerns about its timing.

Scheduled for June 6 to June 8, the concert series coincides with China’s National College Entrance Exam (Gaokao), which takes place on June 7 and 8, raising fears of potential disruptions for nearby test-takers.

The concern primarily stems from the concert’s proximity to Dongguan No. 6 Senior High School, one of the designated examination centers, located approximately 1.6 kilometers from the Dongguan Bank Basketball Center, the indoor venue where the concert will be held.

Several parents and community members had reportedly requested a postponement to ensure an undisturbed testing environment.

On May 22, multiple departments within the Dongguan municipal government, including the Education Bureau and the Culture, Tourism, Radio, and Sports Bureau, confirmed they had received feedback and had conducted several coordination meetings to evaluate the situation.

A representative from the Dongguan Municipal Admissions Office reassured the public that on-site noise tests had been conducted, and findings indicate that the concert will not interfere with the exam process.

Additionally, calls to the city’s 12345 public service hotline revealed that authorities had verified no time conflict between the concert and exam sessions, as the concert is scheduled for 7:30 PM and lasts approximately 2.5 hours, while Gaokao exams take place during the daytime, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Authorities emphasized that the concert will be held indoors, further mitigating the potential for noise disturbances.

Based on data from previous events at the venue, maximum sound levels are not expected to disrupt the examination atmosphere in the nearby school.
