Overseasidol.com — On the evening of May 27, the organizers of Jacky Cheung’s 60+ World Tour in Dongguan officially announced the postponement of the concert originally scheduled for June 6 to 8, 2025.
The new dates have been set for August 29 to 31, 2025.
The statement included an apology to fans for the inconvenience and expressed gratitude to the public and stakeholders for their understanding and support.
The initial schedule had drawn concern due to its overlap with China’s Gaokao, the national college entrance examination, which will take place on June 7 and 8.
Adding to the worry, the concert venue, Dongguan Bank Basketball Center is located approximately 1.6 kilometers from Dongguan No. 6 High School, a designated Gaokao test site.
While city officials had conducted noise level assessments and determined that the concert would not impact the exam environment, repeated public complaints, especially from parents, prompted authorities to reassess.
According to the Dongguan Education Examination Authority, the government held multiple meetings and coordinated with relevant departments to minimize any potential disturbance to examinees.
Nevertheless, in the interest of caution and public consensus, the concert has now been rescheduled.
The event organizer also released a ticketing and compensation notice.
Fans who have already purchased tickets may retain their original tickets for the rescheduled dates without any additional steps, nticket systems will automatically update to the new dates.
Alternatively, those who prefer a refund can apply through their original ticketing platform for a full refund.
Moreover, the organizers will cover costs incurred due to the postponement, including hotel cancellation fees and transportation-related charges such as train and flight ticket penalties.
