Overseasidol.com — On November 13, reports surfaced that Jessica Jung was allegedly sued in March for breaching a commercial contract.
Later that day, her studio released an official statement refuting the claims, describing them as “malicious fabrications with no factual basis.”
According to court announcements from China, Jessica was accused by Hangzhou Xuanbu Network Technology Co., Ltd. of failing to fulfill her business obligations.
The company reportedly demanded 13.1 million yuan (about 2.39 million SGD) in compensation, including the return of a 10 million yuan advance payment, 3 million yuan in penalty fees, and 100,000 yuan in legal costs.
The case was reportedly scheduled for a court hearing on August 19.
In response, Jessica’s agency Coridel Entertainment strongly denied the allegations on Weibo.
The company stated, “All related content is purely fabricated without any factual support. These false claims contain malicious defamation and personal attacks, which have severely damaged Jessica’s reputation and caused her emotional distress,”.
The agency also confirmed that legal representatives have begun collecting evidence.
Jessica’s studio further emphasized, “The internet is not above the law. We urge the public to stay rational, avoid spreading rumors, and help maintain a healthy online environment,”.
Jessica, who rose to fame as a member of Girls’ Generation and later gained renewed popularity in China after joining Sisters Who Make Waves 3 in 2022, continues to be active in both entertainment and fashion.
