The actress shared the news with fans, emphasizing that she made the decision to undergo surgery immediately after being diagnosed.
Chen explained that she had been experiencing diarrhea and abdominal pain for several days, prompting her to seek medical attention.
After a thorough examination, doctors confirmed she had appendicitis and recommended surgery.
To prevent any delays in her work schedule, Chen agreed to have the laparoscopic surgery on the same day.
“To make sure my upcoming schedule wouldn’t be affected, I decided to go ahead with the surgery that day. Fortunately, it was a minimally invasive procedure, so the wound was small.
I only had to stay in the hospital for one night, and I’m feeling much better already.
Today, I can even be discharged,” Chen wrote in her post.
She added that her recovery had been smooth, and the doctors told her she could eat whatever she wanted.
In addition to updating fans on her health, Chen also shared a humorous chat with her mother.
Her mom joked that Chen’s appendix looked like the intestines of a chicken or duck, to which Chen replied with a laugh, teasing that her mom might be a bit too familiar with eating those parts.
