Overseasidol.com — On July 11, Chinese actress Lou Yixiao took to social media to reflect on her first experience filming a short drama.
She revealed that the shooting took place in the Gobi Desert, the same location used recently for her project “Jinse”.
She wrote, “Lately, it feels like I’ve been at war with Dunhuang’s Gobi Desert. Just wrapped up ‘Jinse’ here, and now I’m already diving into another project without rest,”.
Lou Yixiao explained that this marks her debut in the short drama format.
She described it as a fresh challenge due to its unique structure and character demands.
When asked by crew members about the difference between long and short dramas, she replied, “For actors, there’s no distinction between big or small roles, or the length of screen time. My job is simply to perform each role to the best of my ability,”.
She ended her post with encouragement for herself, “U1S1, whether it’s a long or short drama, filming in deserts is exhausting. But keep going!,”.
In recent years, short dramas have become a booming trend in China’s entertainment industry.
A number of top celebrities have joined this wave, including Li Ruotong, Zhang Tianai, Ni Hongjie, Liu Xiaoqing, Shu Chang, Luo Yizhou, Hu Lianxin, Yan Xujia, and Xu Mengjie.
