Overseasidol.com — Luke Ishikawa recently spoke about his life after becoming an independent actor.
He decided not to renew his contract with his former agency and now enjoys having more freedom in his career.
His latest series Rock and Soul has received strong positive feedback, especially his role as a grim reaper.
Luke shared that he was initially unsure about the character. He thought the role would feel distant, but once he started acting, it felt surprisingly natural.
He said he tries not to act like himself when performing, but he tries to fully become the character.
He added that playing a grim reaper wasn’t too difficult because he prepared well and found the role fun.
Aside from this series, he also has another project titled Move to Tokyo. The show is 90% in Japanese and includes Thai subtitles.
It is a comedy about three people who get stuck in one place and cannot escape.
Luke revealed that he is still working with the modeling agency that has managed him for eight years. He said he feels very happy and trusts them completely.
He also expressed gratitude to GMMTV for taking good care of him and giving him many opportunities, including his first lead role.
However, he admitted that his artistic direction is now different from the company, which is why he chose independence.
As a free agent, Luke feels he can explore more opportunities, including music. He is currently researching and planning his first steps.
He hopes to create 8–10 demo tracks that express what he truly wants to say. If possible, he wants to continue singing even until he is 50.
Right now, he writes his lyrics in English because he is still learning Thai. He insists on creating everything himself before presenting his work to any label that may be interested.
