The script is penned by Junya Ikegami, known for his work on the hit series Queen of Villains.

“Downtime” tells the story of two cosmetic surgeons whose philosophies are at odds.

Matsuoka Mayu plays Fumi Numata, a former reconstructive surgeon once devoted to saving lives.

Even after transitioning into cosmetic surgery, she remains committed to her life-saving principles.

Opposite her is Naka Riisa as Rin Toyama, a prominent opinion leader in the plastic surgery world who believes that restoring beauty is the key to healing the heart.

The clash between their beliefs unfolds alongside the struggles of patients caught in the booming cosmetic surgery trend, each seeking self-worth and survival in their own way.

Blending gripping drama with entertainment, “Downtime” explores timely social themes in an era where beauty standards are constantly evolving.

The series is produced by Shinichi Kudo, Harue Miyake, and Katsuhito Mogi.
