Overseasidol.com — Taiwanese entertainer Mickey Huang is under investigation for a suspected hit-and-run incident in New Taipei City.
Local media reported that he was accused of colliding with a female motorcyclist and leaving the scene. Huang later released a statement through his lawyer to clarify the situation.
In the statement, Huang explained that he was fully focused on driving at the time of the accident.
He claimed he did not hear any calls or collision sounds from the right side of his vehicle, which is why he did not stop to check the scene. He continued driving forward as usual.
The document shown in the circulated photo details footage captured by roadside surveillance.
The video indicated that Huang’s car briefly slowed down to yield to an oncoming scooter, then continued moving.
Meanwhile, another motorcycle from behind collided with the female rider. Huang’s vehicle drove away steadily without showing signs of abnormal movement.
Authorities summoned Huang in late August, and he later visited the police station to review the footage.
He provided his driver’s license and cooperated with the investigation. In the same statement, Huang expressed deep regret and apologized to the injured rider. He also pledged to take responsibility for compensation.
The case remains under legal review, with police still determining fault. While Huang emphasizes it was an unintentional oversight, the incident has reignited scrutiny of his ongoing controversies.
