Overseasidol.com — Taiwanese media report that controversial TV host Mickey Huang Zijiao, has reached financial settlements with 21 victims in his child exploitation case.
The latest update indicates that Wu did not personally attend recent court-facilitated mediation sessions, choosing instead to be represented by his legal team.
Of the victims, five reached a formal settlement with Wu in the latest round of negotiations. Sources suggest the compensation for each individual is around NT$200,000 (approximately USD 6,200).
Previously, on May 14, Wu was sentenced to eight months in prison in the first trial for the possession of 2,259 illicit videos featuring minors.
The case has since been appealed and taken to a higher court, where multiple mediation sessions have been held in hopes of resolving the matter.
During the most recent hearing, another victim agreed to the proposed settlement terms, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 21.
Despite the progress, the legal process is ongoing, and more victims may come forward in the future.
This case has sparked public outrage and renewed calls for stricter legislation and enforcement against the possession and distribution of illegal content involving minors.
