Overseasidol.com — Taiwanese actor Patrick Shih has become the subject of controversy following reports that he fainted during the filming of a TV drama earlier this year.
According to Taiwanese media on November 25, the incident was allegedly caused by poor ventilation on set, prompting immediate medical attention. Fortunately, his condition was reported to be non-serious.
Although the production was nearing completion with only one final scene remaining, the filming schedule had to be adjusted as Patrick took time off to recover.
However, just two days after being hospitalized, he was reportedly seen on a street date with his new girlfriend, appearing energetic and in good spirits.
This sparked criticism from some crew members, who reportedly described him as “spoiled” and expressed reluctance to work with him again.
In response, the drama’s production team issued an official statement denying claims that Shi Baiyu had affected the filming progress.
Both the producer and director emphasized that Shi had remained dedicated and professional throughout the project, making significant efforts to prepare for his role from the early stages of production.
“He has maintained a positive attitude and has been cooperative throughout the process. Post-production is currently proceeding according to schedule,” the statement read.
The team also thanked the public for their concern and support, expressing anticipation for the drama’s upcoming release.
