A netizen asked well-known producer Yu Zheng to clarify the situation.

Yu explained that the incident occurred during veteran actor Eric Tsang’s birthday party.

Actress Li Muchen had asked Hong Yao whether he would attend the celebration, but Liu Yichang, who is Li Muchen’s boyfriend, apparently misunderstood the message.

As the issue escalated, Liu Yichang posted a public apology to Hong Yao. Some netizens expressed sympathy for Li Muchen, believing she was an innocent party caught in the middle.

Yu Zheng revealed that he had messaged Li Muchen asking her to clarify the matter, but she didn’t respond.

He commented, “A woman who chooses to stay silent isn’t necessarily a good person either.”

Liu Yichang responded to Yu Zheng’s statement, saying, “As a man, I take responsibility for my mistake. But please don’t take your emotions out on others. The girl is truly innocent,”.

Later, Li Muchen broke her silence and issued an apology to both Yu Zheng and Hong Yao. She explained that she had just finished filming at dawn and hadn’t seen Yu Zheng’s message in time.

Upon seeing Liu Yichang’s post, she immediately asked him to delete it.

Yu Zheng then apologized to Li Muchen for jumping to conclusions, admitting he had acted rashly without understanding the full context.
