Overseasidol.com — China is currently gripped by a disturbing sex scandal involving a man known online as “Hong Jie”.
He disguised himself as a woman to lure unsuspecting men into sexual encounters under the pretense of offering “free services”.
The shocking twist, these encounters were secretly filmed and sold on paid online platforms, with at least 1,691 victims now identified.
Despite having average looks and an unremarkable physique, Hong Jie carefully crafted an online persona as a gentle, caring female friend who appeared selfless and emotionally supportive.
He asked for no money, only small gifts like fruit or milk, which helped build the illusion of sincerity and made his targets feel safe.
Authorities revealed that Hong Jie never directly asked for payment. Instead, he used psychological manipulation to lower the victims’ defenses.
In some cases, men even continued the sexual activity after discovering Hong Jie’s true gender, highlighting the complex mix of desire, shame, and emotional confusion involved.
Following the exposure of the scandal, the internet exploded with memes and viral challenges.
One popular trend involves an Instagram filter called “The Mysterious Room”, which recreates the interior of Red Jie’s room, complete with Thai captions and bed scenes.
The challenge gained traction especially in Thailand and Taiwan, with thousands of users Photoshopping themselves into the infamous room.
While many treated it as a joke, others raised concerns that the viral trend distracts from the serious nature of the crime.
Critics warned that beneath the humor lies a grave violation of privacy and human dignity, with some stating, “Now men finally understand what it feels like to have their intimate videos leaked,”.
