Overseasidol.com — On April 11, singer Wang Leehom shared a video revealing that the piano featured in his new music video had indeed been burned during filming.
In the video, he expressed deep regret, saying he wasn’t upset about his own face, but rather heartbroken over the piano.
“My piano really got burned. I’m heartbroken, not about my face, but the piano. It’s turned into something like melted candy, it used to be a real instrument,” he said.
Previously, Wang Leehom released the official MV for I’m Alive on social media, noting that he re-recorded the opening line to make the moment feel more emotional.
He also referenced the scene where the piano is set on fire, asking fans whether they thought the dramatic moment was worth it.
Following the MV’s release, rumors began circulating online claiming that Wang had burned a million-yuan antique piano and even suffered facial burns.
In response, on April 12, Wang Leehom’s studio issued an official statement firmly denying these claims.
They clarified that the piano used in the video was a standard prop purchased for 2,200 yuan, not an antique or high-value collector’s item.
All purchase receipts and model details are on record.
The studio further explained that the burning piano scene was central to the video’s artistic concept.
After thorough discussion, the production team concluded that the desired continuous shotdepicting the piano being consumed by flames could not be achieved with special effects alone.
As such, a real piano was used and burned for authenticity.
Safety protocols were strictly followed throughout the shoot, with professional firefighters and medical staff on-site, ensuring no injuries or secondary hazards occurred.
The safety plan had also been reviewed and approved by a third-party agency.
Wang Leehom’s studio condemned the spread of false information and announced they had collected evidence of the rumors.
Legal action will be taken against those responsible for fabricating and spreading misinformation.
The studio reminded the public that the internet is not beyond the reach of the law and urged everyone not to believe or share unverified content.
