Overseasidol.com — Chinese singer and actor Zhang Yuan, aged 40, recently revealed in an interview that he is still battling bipolar disorder.
He admitted that he refuses to give in to the illness and has chosen to confront it in his own way without medication or therapy.
“I’m still stubborn about it,” Zhang confessed. “I know I have it, but I don’t want to admit it. Over the years, I’ve lost money, lost love, and even faced death and separation. When you experience life and death, many things inside you just turn cold, and it’s hard to warm them again,”.
He continued, “But I refuse to give up. Even if I have a problem, I don’t think it’s really a problem. I’d rather fight it head-on than rely on medication or counseling. I want to face it on my own terms,”.
Back in March 2024, Zhang Yuan also addressed his condition on social media, writing, “There’s no need to dramatize it. Life is full of ups and downs, and having emotional struggles is normal. I believe that as fragile as humans can be, we can also be just as strong,”.
