Overseasidol.com — Recently, renowned Hong Kong TVB actor Steven Ma appeared at the final graduation parade officiated by Hong Kong Police Commissioner before his retirement.
Ma’s presence drew significant attention, with many netizens jokingly calling him a “handsome Peking University master’s graduate who passed the civil service exam.”
On April 1, Ma Junwei took to social media to share an old interview from two years ago, clarifying the growing misconceptions.
“Thank you for the compliments, but I’m truly not a civil servant,” he stated.
In November 2022, Ma was appointed as a committee member responsible for theater development under Hong Kong’s Leisure and Cultural Services Department, serving as a part-time public figure in the arts sector.
He further explained that although he did study courses at Peking University, he never pursued a master’s degree.
“Many friends congratulated me, but I had to clarify, I’m not a postgraduate. Please don’t misunderstand,” he added.
