Thai actress Aum Luckkana recently shared an unexpected experience during her trip to Japan after being asked to leave a traditional hot spring (onsen) because of her tattoo.
According to Aum, the first onsen she visited strictly prohibited guests with tattoos from entering.
She later found another hot spring that allowed tattooed visitors as long as their tattoos were completely covered with special adhesive patches.
After purchasing and applying the covers, she was able to enjoy the onsen.
However, while moving to another bath, one of the patches accidentally came off, exposing her tattoo.
Once staff noticed the uncovered tattoo, Aum was politely asked to leave the onsen in accordance with its rules.
As a result, she spent only about 45 minutes at the facility.
Following the incident, Aum Luckkana advised travelers with tattoos to check each onsen’s tattoo policy before visiting and prepare proper tattoo-covering patches. (Overseasidol.com)
