Overseasidol.com — On June 18, Hong Kong actor-singer Ronald Cheng officially announced that he and his wife Sammy Yu are in the process of getting a divorce.
In a statement posted to social media, Cheng addressed a wave of false rumors, especially claims about child custody and finances, including the alleged HK$8,000 monthly child support, which he described as completely inaccurate and damaging.
He emphasized that these rumors have deeply affected his family and children, and he felt it was necessary to clarify the truth and protect their well-being.
Ronald Cheng’s marriage to Sammy Yu began after his previous marriage to Charlene Choi (Ah Sa).
The former couple had secretly wed in 2006 and publicly announced their divorce in 2010.
Cheng and Yu have two children: a daughter born in 2011 and a son born in 2015, completing what the Chinese call a “perfect” family with one daughter and one son.
There had been speculation that Yu Sze-man was once a “third party” in Cheng’s earlier marriage.
However, her close friend Zheng Wen recently denied the accusation, stating that Yu was not involved in any affair and that he had witnessed the timeline himself.
