Overseasidol.com — Taiwanese pop queen Jolin Tsai held an exclusive listening party for her new album “Pleasure” in Nanjing recently.
With sleek long black hair and a gray suit, Jolin exuded a smart and sophisticated presence, looking confident and radiant throughout the event.
The event marked the full unveiling of all 11 new tracks from the album, including “Pleasure”, “The Divine Comedy: Purgatorio”, “SEVEN”, and “DIY”.
Rather than a traditional showcase, Jolin chose a “listening together” format, where she accompanied fans through each song and shared the stories behind their creation.
In a light-hearted moment, fans sang along to the new songs with military-like coordination.
Jolin burst into laughter, joking, “Did you all secretly train for this?”. She lovingly called her fans “iron-throated” for their powerful vocals.
For the first time in her career, Jolin took on the role of music producer for her own album. She candidly admitted that the process wasn’t easy.
There were times of confusion and immense pressure, even leading to breakouts on her face.
She likened the journey to “sending a child off to school” — filled with both excitement and anxiety.
When asked about her thoughts on hustle culture and competition, Jolin gave a grounded response.
She said she doesn’t compete with others but is driven by curiosity.
“I love the version of myself that searches for answers. I don’t see it as pressure or competition,” she explained.
