Overseasidol.com — KLP48 management has issued an official clarification following widespread controversy involving six first-generation members of the group.
On December 19, 2025, KLP48 announced that Yi Shyan, Amanda, Ann Drea, Hillary, Khalies, and Salwa had received strict official warnings for violating internal rules related to conduct and social media guidelines.
The sanctions came with a warning that repeated violations could result in harsher penalties, including suspension, demotion, or removal from the group.
The announcement quickly sparked speculation among fans after screenshots of a private group chat, allegedly from a messaging application, began circulating online.
The leaked messages were accused of containing inappropriate and insensitive remarks toward Japanese members, particularly transfer members from AKB48 and STU48, as well as Japanese staff.
The conversation reportedly also involved a KLP staff who issued warnings within the chat.
In response to the growing rumors, KLP48 management released an official statement on December 26, 2025.

The management apologized for the confusion and concern caused by the initial announcement and emphasized that a thorough internal investigation had been conducted prior to issuing any disciplinary action.
According to the statement, the investigation confirmed that there was no racist intent or bullying involved in the incident.
Management further acknowledged that the situation was partly influenced by its own shortcomings.
Since the early stages of KLP48, certain management practices may have been perceived as favoring more experienced members, potentially leading to misunderstandings.
The company took full responsibility for this issue and expressed regret over any misinterpretation that may have arisen.
Looking ahead, KLP48 management pledged to strengthen communication, guidance, and support systems for all members to foster a fair, respectful, and transparent group environment.
At the same time, the management made it clear that firm action, including legal measures, would be taken against any individuals found spreading false or defamatory information, inciting harassment, or unlawfully leaking confidential or personal data related to KLP48 or its members.
