Thai actors August Vachiravit and Leng Thanaphon are preparing for the premiere of the BL adaptation of Love Destiny, which is set to debut on July 14.
During a recent promotional event, the two stars spoke about filming the series and addressed the discussions surrounding the remake of the beloved classic.
August said he feels both excited and nervous about the upcoming release.
Although he has watched the latest trailer, he has not yet seen the full series and is looking forward to experiencing it with viewers.
Leng shared the same excitement and hopes audiences will enjoy the drama.
Both actors described the project as their first major historical drama challenge.
Leng had to learn traditional speech and behavior, while August underwent horse-riding, fencing, and etiquette training to prepare for his role.
The pair also praised the returning director of the original Love Destiny, saying the detailed guidance helped them better understand every character and scene throughout filming.
The new adaptation will also showcase Thailand’s traditional culture and cuisine.
Leng revealed that his character introduces modern cooking ideas into the historical setting, while August highlighted that many scenes were filmed at real historical landmarks.
Responding to online discussions about the BL remake, August Vachiravit said he respects different opinions but believes a great story deserves to be retold in new ways.
