Overseasidol.com — Former actress Cui Jingge has opened up about the financial realities behind working in the entertainment industry, revealing that her earnings from a well-known Chinese drama were far lower than many might expect.
Speaking candidly, Cui shared that while filming the popular series “Twenty Your Life On”, she was paid around 5,000 yuan per day.
She worked on the production for eight days, bringing her total gross income to 40,000 yuan.
However, that figure did not reflect her actual take-home pay. After deductions for management commissions, taxes, and various service fees, the remaining amount was significantly reduced.
Summing up her experience, Cui said, “Only a small number of people truly make money in this industry most of us are just enduring,”.
Her remarks quickly sparked online discussions about the financial struggles faced by supporting actors and lesser-known performers.
While top stars often command massive paychecks, many actors in minor roles deal with unstable job opportunities, long working hours, and modest compensation.
Cui Jingge also revealed that she has now left the entertainment industry.
Although she did not go into detail about her decision, her income disclosure highlights the less glamorous side of show business that is rarely seen by the public.
