On March 30, he shared an update on social media to clarify the situation.
According to Wu Chuyi, the money sent by Chen Muchi had actually been received as early as 2023 through legal representation.
However, he explained that he was unaware of the transfer at the time due to personal circumstances.
He revealed that his personal information had been leaked online, leading to frequent harassment through small money transfers, such as 0.1 yuan, often accompanied by abusive messages.
As a result, he chose to stop using the digital payment platform Alipay, which caused him to miss the incoming payment.
After eventually discovering the funds, Wu Chuyi stated that he had donated the full amount to charity.
While he did not specify the organization, he emphasized that the money was no longer used for personal purposes.
Earlier, Chen Muchi had publicly stated that he had already repaid the debt.
Wu Chuyi’s latest clarification confirms that the payment was indeed completed, though confusion arose due to unusual circumstances.
