Overseasidol.com — Taiwanese actor Danson Tang has responded to allegations linked to a draft evasion case currently under investigation by prosecutors in New Taipei.
On April 15, authorities announced the conclusion of the fourth phase of the probe, charging 15 individuals, including the alleged ringleader, several entertainers, and civilians.
Tang’s name appearing on the list quickly drew public attention, especially as he had recently shared cheerful photos on social media promoting an upcoming public event in Hangzhou, China.
The timing sparked speculation online, with some netizens jokingly suggesting that his post was related to “turning himself in” a claim that briefly trended on social platforms.
Breaking his silence on April 17, Tang’s agency issued an official statement denying the rumors.
The agency clarified that the circulating claims were fabricated and misleading.
According to them, the actor had already voluntarily reported and cooperated with the relevant military service procedures back in 2025, making the alleged timeline of “surrender” inaccurate.
The agency also expressed concern over the spread of false information and stated that legal action may be pursued to protect the artist’s reputation.
They concluded the statement with an apology for the public disturbance and pledged to enforce stricter discipline, ensuring their artist complies with legal obligations and social responsibilities.
