Overseasidol.com — Chinese influencer Du Meizhu has once again drawn public attention following new legal developments.
According to official records, she has recently been listed as a subject of court enforcement, with an obligation amounting to 2,489 yuan.
The case was handled by the Lingling District People’s Court in Yongzhou, Hunan Province.
It stems from a dispute between Du Meizhu and a fan surnamed Zhu, who previously accused her of misleading supporters into sending money.
Reports indicate that the fan claimed to have transferred nearly 200,000 yuan to Du Meizhu.
However, after feeling deceived, the fan requested a refund.
Du Meizhu allegedly returned only around 30,000 yuan, leading to further conflict and eventual legal action.
Du Meizhu had denied the accusations at the time and countered with claims against the fan, including allegations related to fraudulent loans.
These statements later became the basis for a defamation lawsuit filed by the fan.
The court ultimately ruled that Du Meizhu had committed defamation.
She was ordered to issue a written apology and compensate the plaintiff for both financial losses and emotional distress, totaling 2,489 yuan.
