Entertainment lawyer Li Zhenwu weighed in on the matter, explaining that intentionally directing a laser pointer at someone’s eyes can be considered a legal violation.
Under public security laws in China, actions that may harm another person’s physical safety can result in administrative penalties, including detention and fines, even if no actual injury occurs.
He further noted that in a filming environment, the production team bears responsibility for ensuring the safety of actors and staff.
