Veteran Hong Kong actress Kara Hui has revealed the extent of the injuries she suffered while filming her upcoming movie Keep the Beat.

Speaking at Weibo Movie Night 2026, the award-winning actress shared that she sustained a total of six bone fractures during production but chose to continue filming until the project was completed.

In Count to Three, Kara plays an emotionally reserved dance teacher. To prepare for the role, she underwent intensive training in Jiaozi dance before filming began.

During rehearsals, she accidentally fractured two ribs. Just days after production started, she suffered additional injuries, resulting in two more fractured ribs.

Later in the filming process, Kara’s foot was accidentally stepped on, causing fractures in two of her toes. In total, she endured six fractures throughout the production.

Despite the physical challenges, Kara Hui said she was deeply moved by the script and felt determined to finish the film.

She described Count to Three as one of the most demanding projects of her career.

The film is currently scheduled for release in late August 2026.

During the same interview, Kara Hui also reflected on reconnecting with Michelle Yeoh, recalling memories from their early careers.

Although she joked that her body can no longer keep up with her fighting spirit, she remains passionate about acting. (Overseasidol.com)
