Chinese actor and singer Lay Zhang has opened up about his experience filming Kung Fu Soccer with legendary director Stephen Chow.
He describing the collaboration as a dream come true.
In recent interviews, Zhang said Stephen Chow is both kind and demanding.
While the director is warm off-camera, he is extremely meticulous on set and pays close attention to every acting detail.
Zhang revealed that he learned a great deal from the filmmaking process.
Out of deep respect, he even greeted Stephen Chow with a bow whenever they met during production.
He also shared that Kung Fu Soccer introduced him to a completely new style of comedy.
To portray Xu Feng, Lay abandoned his usual idol image and fully immersed himself in the character, making his appearance almost unrecognizable to some viewers.
