The news was formally delivered to fans and media through an official statement and was also announced live during today’s AKB48 Team TP RESET theater performance.
According to the announcement, the group’s official website will temporarily shut down on January 19 at 00:10 to undergo adjustments.
The new group name, TPE48, will officially take effect on January 21, 2026, alongside the relaunch of the updated official website at an auspicious time.
The rebranding also includes a new visual identity. TPE48 will adopt a logo design similar to their sister group TSH48, featuring a white base with orange lettering and lines.
This refreshed look is intended to reflect both renewal and continuity within the 48 Group family.
