Overseasidol.com — Thai producer and actress Ann Thongprasom recently opened up about the challenging process of convincing superstar Pope Thanawat to make his long-awaited return to television dramas.

In an interview, Ann revealed that bringing Pope back to acting required strong encouragement from everyone around him.

She even joked that they had to “pull him out of the cave,”.

At the beginning, Pope reportedly doubted his own abilities and repeatedly asked her whether he could still perform well on screen.

Ann firmly reassured him, saying he remains a valuable talent and an important asset for television.

She stressed that her words were sincere, believing that Pope’s years of experience, acting skills, and professional growth should not go to waste by stepping away from the spotlight.

To persuade him, Ann used several approaches from explaining the storyline and showing him reference materials about the drama’s creative world, to arranging meetings with the director.

Gradually, Pope became more confident, took the script home to read, and eventually agreed to take on the role.

Speaking about Pope’s pairing with actress Mint Chalida, Ann said she sensed a special “magic moment” and strong on-screen chemistry between the two leads.

She believes fans will be excited to see their performance together.

When asked whether she hopes the new drama can achieve the same historic success as the hit series Love Destiny, Ann admitted feeling significant pressure.

She acknowledged Pope’s massive fan base but also emphasized that not every production can reach such legendary popularity.

Her main goal, she explained, is to help Pope return “back to basics” by portraying a well-rounded, relatable ordinary man.

Ann also shared her views on the current challenges facing the television industry.

Comparing herself to a farmer, she said that despite shrinking budgets, rapid global trends, and increasing competition, TV dramas remain a fundamental source of happiness for Thai audiences.

She believes someone must continue producing quality content, even if fewer people can survive in the industry.
