Overseasidol.com — Recently, Korean media outlets reported that China’s national broadcaster, China Media Group (CMG), was planning a large-scale K-POP concert tour.
It will be held for China-South Korea collaboration in six major Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
According to the reports, over 30,000 attendees were expected per city, with top-tier K-POP boy groups such as BTS, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, TREASURE, and EXO allegedly listed in CMG’s invitation to Korean partners.
However, these claims have since been refuted. CMG’s Asia-Pacific headquarters has officially denied any involvement in the proposed event, stating that there is no such plan or initiative in place.
The broadcaster emphasized that reports of invitations or performance arrangements with K-POP groups are unfounded and do not reflect any real project under development.
This clarification puts to rest widespread online speculation regarding a potential cross-national entertainment collaboration later this year.
As is known, China has rejected the arrival of the Hallyu wave or K-Pop virus since 2016.
