Overseasidol.com — Chang Chen has once again won Best Actor at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards.
He received the honor for his role in the film “The Road to Happiness”, also known as “Lucky Lu”. This marks his second win after his previous victory at the 58th edition.
Chang shared that he has believed in and loved cinema since his debut at the age of 13.
He hopes to continue walking this path. For him, film is more than a career. It is a lifelong passion.
“Lucky Lu” is an expanded adaptation of director Lloyd Lee Choi’s earlier short film “Same Old”.
The story follows an immigrant living in Chinatown in the United States. He works as a food delivery rider.
One day, his electric bike is stolen. He roams the streets trying to find it. The cold, loneliness, and helplessness slowly surround him. Life remains difficult and unchanged.
In his acceptance speech, Chang said he came unprepared. He thanked the Golden Horse jury for their recognition.
He explained that he acted in a very relaxed state. During two months in New York, he fully embodied the character Lu Jiacheng.
He also expressed gratitude to the entire production team. He appreciated the effort of the crew behind the scenes.
Chang thanked his wife and daughter for their constant support. He also paid tribute to his father, Chang Kuo-chu, who introduced him to the industry.
Chang Chen ended his speech by reaffirming his love for cinema. He dedicated the award to everyone who loves film. He encouraged them to keep supporting the art, together with him.
