Overseasidol.com — The fantasy drama “Love on the Turquoise Land” starring Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Xingxu is currently capturing viewers’ attention.
In a recent interview, Chen Xingxu opened up about his reaction after reading the script and his first on-set experience working with Dilraba, especially during their challenging action scenes.
Chen Xingxu revealed that the script did not specify the details of the fight sequences, so he had to combine elements from the original novel and the director’s vision.
His first major confrontation scene with the character Nie Jiuluo required both martial arts precision and aesthetic elegance.
“Action scenes can take several attempts. When it’s a male–female fight, it’s tricky holding back too much looks fake, but going all out risks hurting your partner. So we needed time to find the rhythm,” he explained.
When asked about his impression of Dilraba before collaborating, Chen Xingxu said she struck him as “beautiful, like a goddess”.
He shared that he had seen many of her works and discovered that off-camera, she has an unexpectedly adorable personality.
“She loves funny videos and often shares them with everyone. The ‘abstract’ persona fans see is just one side of her. In daily life, she’s not always like that sometimes she shows a very cute side,” he said.
The interviewer also brought up a humorous behind-the-scenes moment that went viral. Chen Xingxu clarified that the playful atmosphere on set was normal.
“Action scenes are exhausting. When multiple takes don’t pass, everyone gets tired. So teasing each other, even joking with the director, helps lighten the mood,” he explained.
When asked whether Dilraba ever displayed a soft or playful side, Chen Xingxu responded simply, “Yes, she does,”.
