Overseasidol.com — The highly anticipated costume fantasy drama “FEUD” has officially set its premiere date for June 6, 2025.
Starring Bai Lu, Joseph Zeng, He Ruixian, and Chen Xinhai, the series is written by Zhao Na and Ren Yanan, and co-directed by Zhi Lei and Guo Hao.
“Feud” follows the emotionally charged and deeply intertwined fates of Hua Ruyue (played by Bai Lu), a Celestial Spirit from the Four Immortals, and Bai Jiusi (played by Joseph Zeng), a Xuan Master of the Dachen sect.
Once divine lovers bound by a shared soul, their bond is shattered by misunderstanding and betrayal.
After experiencing heartbreaking separation, the tragic loss of their child, and even mortal suffering, they discover that a greater conspiracy has been manipulating them all along.
Determined to uncover the truth, they join forces once more to confront their destiny and save the world.
Producer Yu Zheng has been a vocal supporter of the series throughout its production, regularly updating fans via Weibo.
When the rough cut was completed, he confidently claimed it was “already incredibly good” and insisted that “there’s no possibility of bad reviews.”
Yu Zheng revealed that “FEUD” is his first-ever xianxia drama, and interestingly, it breaks away from the genre’s typical tropes.
He noted that this is not a story about epic world-building, saviors of mankind, reincarnated lovers, or segmented main arcs.
Instead, it is best described as an intense and gripping “marital war”, portraying the raw emotions and conflicts within a broken relationship striving to heal.
In addition, Yu Zheng positioned “FEUD” as his latest experiment in shortening long-format dramas without compromising depth or narrative quality, a continuation of his creative tests following his success with “Mo Yu Yun Jian” and “Wu Fu Lin Men.”
Speaking at a recent promotion event, he boldly declared: “This drama will definitely be a hit,”.
His confident remark quickly trended online, prompting him to respond, “I work hard to create quality dramas. If I have faith in my work, why shouldn’t I say it out loud?,”.
