Overseasidol.com — Thai entertainment powerhouse GMMTV has officially unveiled the first trailer for its highly anticipated BL series, Only Friends: Dream On, a sequel and spin-off to the 2023 hit Only Friends.

The trailer, released on February 9, 2026 at 4:00 PM Thailand time, immediately sparked intense discussion across social media platforms, signaling strong global interest in the new installment.

Clocking in at approximately three minutes, the trailer offers a deeper and more emotionally charged tone compared to the first season.

Visually, it showcases a campus setting filled with theater rehearsals, intimate backstage moments, and tension-heavy confrontations.

Several scenes highlight dramatic stage lighting, emotional close-ups between characters, and glimpses of romantic and complicated entanglements.

The imagery emphasizes performance arts, particularly the production of a stage play titled Romeo & Romeo, a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet that centers on a love story between two men.

The theatrical atmosphere blends with raw emotional exchanges, hinting at rivalry, heartbreak, and ambition.

Only Friends: Dream On follows a group of university students majoring in drama, directing, music, dance, and the arts as they navigate competition, casual relationships, and emotional vulnerability.

At the heart of the story is Jack, played by Earth Pirapat, a senior student who takes on the role of director for the campus production.

He is forced to collaborate with his ex-boyfriend Dean, portrayed by Mix Sahaphap, creating immediate tension both professionally and personally.

The situation becomes even more complicated with the presence of Raffy, played by Boom Tharatorn, who secretly harbors feelings for Jack.

Other key characters include Arnold (Joss Wayar), Tua (Gawin Caskey), and Rome (Oab Thanaboon), each bringing their own ambitions and emotional struggles into the theater project.

The layered relationships promise a more mature and character-driven narrative compared to the original series.

Online reactions have been overwhelmingly positive. Fans on platforms such as Reddit and X have praised the trailer’s more focused storytelling and cinematic feel.

One fan commented that the sequel “looks less messy than the first season, but just as heartbreaking and dramatic,” reflecting a broader sentiment that the new series may deliver deeper emotional impact while maintaining the bold tone that made the original popular.

The series is scheduled to premiere on February 27, 2026, with a total of 12 episodes airing every Friday at 8:30 PM ICT on Thailand’s one31 channel and streaming platform oneD.

The finale is set for May 15, 2026. International viewers will be able to watch the series through GMMTV’s official platforms and licensed streaming services.

The announcement also comes amid discussions about cast changes affecting both Only Friends: Dream On and another upcoming GMMTV project, MU-TE-LUV: 9 Temples.

While the adjustments have sparked debate within the fandom, overall anticipation for the new BL drama remains high.
